Towards the end of the summer it is the right time to create lavender sachets. The lavender has lost its violet color already, it has dried up and the smell of the flowers is most intense. You can cut the lavender plant short and you can pick the dried flowers and put them into small sachets. Make sure the sachets allow transpiration. Once done leave them a couple of weeks spread on a table to allow remaining humidity to disappear, when they are totally dry you can put them in your drawers to give a fresh smell to your clothes.

You do not need a huge pond to be able to cultivate 

water lilies. When the temperature is stable over 0C in the night, you can leave your 

water lilies in vases outside in the garden or balcony. We used a rain barrel, we dag a hole in the soil and put the rain barrel inside. With a Japanese style rain chain we made sure that the plants always get fresh water when it rains. Please remember that water lilies do not like when the water moves too much, so you should avoid putting them in a pond with strong water fountains. If the water lilies are not in a large pond, or at least 60 cms below the soil level, you should make sure they are not left outside in winter, to avoid the roots freezing .

VIDEO CUTE RACOON SPOTTED - ビデオかわいいアライグマを発見

We spotted the first racoon back in 2017. The garden was still wild at that time, as we were busy with indoor renovations. In winter we realised that a racoon was living under the roof of our guest bathroom. When the summer arrived, the racoon was leaving his home in the late afternoon searching for food. Here is another easy-to-make recipe: hummus.

Ingredients

2x chickpeas cans
60ml tahine
2x large spoons of lemon concentrate
2x large spoons of oil
3 cloves of garlic
some cumin
3 or 4 small spoons of salt
1 glass of water
Paprika powder

How:

1) Mix tahine with lemon concentrate with a hand blender
2) add garlic and oil and mix with the hand blender
3) add the chickpeas  and mix with the hand blender
4) add water if necessary  and mix with the hand blender
5) and cumin, salt 3 and taste it, if more salt is needed add extra salt  and mix with the hand blender
6) add water if necessary  and mix with the hand blender
7) Serve with paprika powder


もう1つの作りやすいレシピは、フムスです。

材料

ひよこ豆の缶x 2
60mlタヒネ
レモン濃縮物の大さじ2倍
オイルの大さじ2倍
ニンニク3片
いくつかのクミン
塩の小さなスプーン3または4
水1杯
パプリカパウダー

どうやって：

1）ハンドブレンダーでタヒネとレモン濃縮物を混ぜる
2）ニンニクと油を加え、ハンドブレンダーで混ぜる
3）ひよこ豆を加え、ハンドブレンダーで混ぜる
4）必要に応じて水を加え、ハンドブレンダーで混ぜます
5）そしてクミン、塩3、そしてそれを味わう、より多くの塩が必要な場合は追加の塩を加えてハンドブレンダーと混ぜる
6）必要に応じて水を加え、ハンドブレンダーで混ぜます
7）パプリカパウダーを添える

Spaghetti butter and sage バターとセージのスパゲッティ。

Easy recipe: spaghetti with butter and sage.

Another easy recipe for 2 people with easy-to-find ingredients. 

250 grams spaghetti

4 grams salt

15/20 sage leaves

150 grams butter

150 grams parmesan

Sage is a plant that you can have at home, in the garden or on your balcony and you can make a delicious delicate sauce with it.

Melt slowly the butter in a pot and add the sage leaves. Boil salty water and add the spaghetti. When the pasta is ready, mix it with the sauce add the cheese and mix. You can add more parmesan at pleasure.

パルメザン150グラム

セージは、家、庭、またはバルコニーに置くことができる植物で、おいしいデリケートなソースを作ることができます。

鍋にバターをゆっくりと溶かしてセージの葉を入れ、塩水を沸騰させてスパゲッティを加える。 パスタの準備ができたら、ソースと混ぜ合わせ、チーズを加えて混ぜます。 パルメザンチーズを追加することもできます。

日本プールハウス-前と後

The site of the Japan style pool house before we started working on it. The shack was replaced by the pool house itself. We used the existing north wall as a base and removed the rest. We built the roof with some of the old roof tiles of the house (approx 1960s), the main building of the property had 1890s 1910s old roof tiles. We used the older tiles for other projects in the garden, I will show in future posts. The dominant colour is red, the wall is red, the roof side is red. The dragon element is silver painted. The five elements for Japanese Buddhism are painted on the wall to give an extra oriental touch.

仕事を始める前の日本式プールハウスのサイト。小屋はプールハウス自体に置き換えられました。既存の北壁を土台として残りを取り除いた。私たちは家の古い屋根瓦（約1960年代）のいくつかを使って屋根を建てました。この建物の本館には1890年代と1910年代の古い屋根瓦がありました。庭の他のプロジェクトには古いタイルを使用しました。今後の投稿で紹介します。支配的な色は赤、壁は赤、屋根側は赤です。ドラゴンの要素はシルバー塗装です。壁には日本仏教の5つの要素が描かれており、オリエンタルな雰囲気を醸し出しています。
