The site of the Japan style pool house before we started working on it. The shack was replaced by the pool house itself. We used the existing north wall as a base and removed the rest. We built the roof with some of the old roof tiles of the house (approx 1960s), the main building of the property had 1890s 1910s old roof tiles. We used the older tiles for other projects in the garden, I will show in future posts. The dominant colour is red, the wall is red, the roof side is red. The dragon element is silver painted. The five elements for Japanese Buddhism are painted on the wall to give an extra oriental touch.

仕事を始める前の日本式プールハウスのサイト。小屋はプールハウス自体に置き換えられました。既存の北壁を土台として残りを取り除いた。私たちは家の古い屋根瓦（約1960年代）のいくつかを使って屋根を建てました。この建物の本館には1890年代と1910年代の古い屋根瓦がありました。庭の他のプロジェクトには古いタイルを使用しました。今後の投稿で紹介します。支配的な色は赤、壁は赤、屋根側は赤です。ドラゴンの要素はシルバー塗装です。壁には日本仏教の5つの要素が描かれており、オリエンタルな雰囲気を醸し出しています。

The beautiful torii (鳥居, literally bird abode) of the Shinto shrines inspired the creation of this natural made design element. The raw material came from the garden itself: A dead tree and some dried Japanese knotweed. With the addition of red paint the outcome is an amazing garden element, that gives magic moments. One of the 5th elements, the wind, makes the knotweed play a natural music and create an atmosphere of peace and relaxation. 

神社の美しい鳥居からインスピレーションを得て、このデザインを上手く作り上げました。原材料は庭自体から来ました：枯れた木といくつかの乾燥したイタドリ。赤いペンキを追加すると、その結果は魔法の瞬間を与える素晴らしい庭の要素になります。第5の要素の1つである風は、イタドリを自然な音楽で演奏し、平和でリラックスした雰囲気を作り出します。

Time has come to make the cherry ice cream

1) Take the cherries and mint leaves out of the freezer

2) add Greek Yogurt and sugar (or without sugar for diet ice cream)

3) Mix all ingredients

4) Enjoy a refreshing ice cream

1）さくらんぼとミントの葉を冷凍庫から取り出します

2）ギリシャヨーグルトと砂糖を追加します（ダイエットアイスクリームの場合は砂糖なし）。

3）すべての材料を混ぜる

4）さわやかなアイスクリームを楽しむ

What to do with all the cherries? Two years ago, our cherry tree produced over 100 kilos of cherries. Two years later, we have 60 pots of jam left out of the 120 we had made. This year, the neighbours will receive some, the rest will be used to make low-calories ice cream, milkshake and liquor. Some pictures of today's harvest.

I live in central Europe but I have always found the Japanese culture fascinating. I have traveled to Japan both for tourism and for study and had the chance to visit amazing Japanese gardens in Tokyo, Kamakura, Nara and Kyoto. I decided to put the passion for Japan together with that for plants and flowers and to create a Japanese garden blog. The blog is intended to give ideas on how to re-create a Japanese style garden, or even decorate a balcony in our homes in Europe or America, by using local resources and also recycling materials. The result is more a mix of eastern and western cultures, with a strong Japanese style base. 

私は中央ヨーロッパに住んでいますが、日本の文化は常に魅力的です。私は観光と研究の両方で日本を訪れ、東京、鎌倉、奈良、京都の素晴らしい日本庭園を訪問する機会がありました。日本への情熱と植物や花への情熱を組み合わせて、日本庭園のブログを作ることにしました。このブログは、地元の資源とリサイクルされた材料を使用して、日本庭園を再現し、西洋の家のバルコニーを飾る方法についてのアイデアを提供することを目的としています。その結果、東と西が出会います。
